How do I delete my Hexology account in the app?
To delete your Hexology account follow these steps:
- Open your profile page in the app
- Open your settings
- Open the Account section
- Press Delete Account
Important Note:
- When you delete your account, your profile, posts, photos and followers will be permenantly removed, and is not recoverable.
- After your account has been deleted, you will be unable to download your data using the Hexology Data Download tool.
- If you delete your account, the handle will become available for use by any new user.
- You can sign up again with the same email.
If you wish to continue:
- Press Delete @username Account
- Enter your password
- Press Delete @username Account
How do I submit a request to delete my Hexology account?
To submit a request for your account to be deleted contact us via this form using your confirmed email address, and we will delete the account on your behalf.
Managing Your Data
Can I delete some of the content I create without deleting my account?
Yes. If you have registered an account with Hexology, you are able to create a user profile, sources, posts, collections and add comments to posts. You can delete posts, comments and collections inside the app, and you are also able to edit your user profile. To delete a source please submit a request via our Contact Form and we will delete it for you. For more detailed instructions, please read the information below.
How do I delete a post I have created?
When you create a post, you can delete it by pressing the blue button that looks like 3 dots – stacked vertically one on top of the other – that is located to the right of the screen next to your name at the top of the post. When you press this button, a context menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. Select “Delete” to delete the post.
How do I delete a comment I have added to a post?
You can delete a comment you have added to a post by pressing the blue button that looks like 3 dots – stacked vertically one on top of the other – that is located to the right of the screen next to your comment. When you press this button, a context menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. Select “Delete” to delete the post.
How do I delete a Collection I have created?
When you create a collection, you can delete it by pressing the blue button which looks like a cog wheel, that is located to the right of the screen next to the description text. When you press the cog wheel button, a context menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. Select “Delete” to delete the collection.
How do I edit my profile?
When you create a registered account with Hexology, you have the option to build a Bio page, adding a short description, a location, a website address and an email address. If you wish to edit or remove the information you have added follow these instructions:
- Press the User Icon in the top left hand corner of the 2 column feed
- Press the blue cog wheel located to the right of the screen next to your name
- When the context menu appears, select “Edit”
How do I delete a Source?
To delete or request a change to a source, please submit a request using our contact form, and we will be in touch.
Can I change my 15 character @Username or the email address I use to log into Hexology
No. To change your 15 character @Username or email address you use to login to Hexology, you will need to create a new account. In this event, we recommend you delete your existing account before creating a new one. Follow these instructions to delete your account.
